A rainbow over Hot Creek in Mammoth Lakes, California. Here in the Sierra, afternoon showers & thunderstorms are no stranger during the spring & summer months. However, getting them in the morning is a rarity. I always feel extra blessed to live here when there rare morning showers come through. I was shooting wildflowers with this same rainbow a bit before as it came in and out. I decided to head to this iconic overlook on my way home in hopes that maybe I'd get lucky enough for it to re-emerge. Shortly after I arrived, it did just that for about 3 minutes. This was my favorite image I captured, as the light was only hitting the creek, making the light look extra dramatic.
